Valley Art Center is thrilled to announce a collaborative public art mural project to beautify the construction site in downtown Chagrin Falls during the Main Street bridge reconstruction project and inspire the community. Leveraging the power of public art to create positivity and community engagement amidst the challenges of construction, Valley Art Center is proud to be providing a source of joy and inspiration to the community.
Designed by local artists and voted on by the community, the mural project includes plans for 8 murals to line the construction fence in Riverside Park. The 6 foot high by 8 foot wide murals will include 7 designs selected by the community through a public vote of submitted designs by local artists and one community mural designed by esteemed lead mural artist, Pam Spremulli. Ms. Spremulli’s mural will incorporate elements drawn by community members of all ages, emphasizing the inclusive and collaborative nature of the community focused project.
Thank you to the private family foundations that are making Community Murals possible.

Opportunities for exhibiting your art
The Bowen Gallery
Valley Art Center presents five exhibits annually in a professional, 1,000-square-foot gallery. Typically, at least two of these exhibits are open competitions for submissions from artists. The only nonprofit art gallery in the Village of Chagrin Falls, VAC has been presenting the original art of novice, emerging, and professional artists for 45 years. VAC's gallery call-to-entries are open to regional, national and international artists. The Annual Juried Art Exhibit Call for Artists is open to artists living in a 250-mile radius of the Center. The Annual Student/Faculty Art Exhibit is noncompetitive and open to all students and instructors active at VAC within the previous two years. The Bowen Gallery welcomes thousands of guests every year and is an excellent opportunity to share your work with an appreciative public.
The Patron Gallery
This smaller exhibit space is programmed by VAC staff and the Gallery Committee. We welcome suggestions and proposals for The Patron Gallery but we generally reserve the space for opportunities identified by the Executive Director and Gallery Manager for pop-up exhibits that cannot be accommodated through our regular gallery programming.
Art by the Falls
Every June, the highly attended Art by the Falls outdoor show introduces the work of national artists and fine crafters to the suburbs of Cleveland. Founded over thirty years ago, the event draws 10,000 patrons every summer to Riverside Park in historic Chagrin Falls. The show features approximately 100 painters, potters, jewelers, wood workers, fiber artists and other fine craftspeople. An ideal setting for an outdoor festival, the village's popular Main Street overlooks two waterfalls and hosts a wealth of fine shops, galleries and restaurants.
Other Opportunities
Members of Valley Art Center are invited to submit work for consideration to display and sell in the Gift Shop. Our Gift Shop artists are local and are active members at VAC.
